For those who haven't seen the movie, have a look at various reviews at:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374887/plotsummary
Lessons learnt
from the movie:
-
Don't steal. Live honestly.
-
Don't lie to your parents telling you are a doctor (or graduated in any other major) if you are not. If other people know the truth but your parents don't, it might make them feel ashamed and embarrassed. Thus, don't do this to them!
-
When you haven't been in touch with your children for a long time don't ask them straight "What do you do in …..?" instead ask first "How are you?"
-
Give a "Magic Hug" to your kids even if they made a mistake. Let them know that they will never be alone.
-
Don't just show RESPECT towards a doctor but towards any person who is hardworking, be it a cleaner or a manager.
-
Next time you see a street cleaner tell him that he is doing a good job in keeping the town/city clean. Let him know how messy it would look if he wouldn't do his job properly. (You might be the first person to say it and get a smile in return. I think it's worth trying!)
-
Never commit suicide because you feel hurt from your partner and you have been disappointed. Life goes on and it's something you need to learn, it's part of life, it just makes you stronger. It will teach you to overcome also other problems more easily in life.
-
Learn to live before you die - so that once you are really facing death at least you know that you made your experiences and enjoyed life a bit!
-
Give people a magic hug when they need it the most.
-
If a person in a hospital lost his senses, still call him/her with his/her first name and not with "subject".
-
If people are ill don't think medicines always helps. Sometimes other approaches are more effective. Try to get that person in touch with what they love, be it a person, a pet, something they love doing. It could be that might be the only way to speed up their healing process. Doctors are not always right, a more human treatment may sometimes turn into a miracle.
-
If you know that someone is going to die very soon try to make them happy in some way, with a smile, a joke, whatever might them help to distract a bit and take the burden of death away from them.
-
As a manager remember all the names of your employees, be it again a cleaner or a lecturer and greet them by name next time you see them.
-
Try to make your working place (e.g. hospital) a more human institution by appreciating more the people working there.
Let me know whether there is
something else that you learnt from this movie that hasn't been
already mentioned.
Thanks.
